Tropical Thursday

My wish came true...it's finally WARM in San Francisco!  Tuesday thru Friday of this week is experiencing highs in the 80s...it's amazing!  The only downer is that we don't have air conditioning and our apartment tends to get a bit warm when temps go above 70.  But we'll survive anything to experience warm temps.  Highs go back to the normal 60s this weekend, but I'm relishing the warmth while it's here after work every day.

A picture of a beautiful beach is definitely needed this week because it's been raining non-stop in Nor Cal.  Nothing relaxes me more than turquoise water, sunshine and swaying palm trees.  I hope your end to the week is a good one!

Sydney, Australia!!!

My husband and I had the opportunity to visit Australia last month and it was AMAZING!  We visited Sydney and Cairns (pronounced "cans") and soaked up plenty of sunshine given that it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere...nice change of pace from the cold, rainy days we've been experiencing in San Francisco.  Too bad I've already lost my tan!

This post is all about Sydney and the world famous Bondi Beach.  I took hundreds of photos, but will just share a few. :)  And, I'll be posting about our trip up north to Cairns in tropical Queensland later this week.

We made it to Bondi Beach!  It was cloudy at first, but then the same came out and shined for us all afternoon.  This is a public swimming pool....waves crash up over the side into the pool.  It was featured on the Travel Channel.

Beautiful sand and gorgeous water. This beach is my happy place!

Check out those waves!  It's hard to tell how large they were from this photo, but let me tell you...they were huge!

We visited a local wildlife sanctuary.  This lil' koala was a piglet!
They sleep for 19-20 hours a day and eat the rest. Too cute!!!

Afternoon Trip to Marin Headlands

One of the great aspects of living in San Francisco is all of the wonderful sights to see and experience within a 2-hour drive.  Well, we didn't have to travel far on Saturday to see beauty...just a quick drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and we entered the beautiful Marin Headlands.  Whether you live in the Bay Area or are visiting for a few days, I highly recommend you put on your hiking shoes, bring a backpack with snacks, a good book and your camera, and head to the Marin Headlands for a day of hiking, relaxing, and great sightseeing!
